An unforgettable new series from acclaimed author Katie McGarry about taking risks, opening your heart and ending up in a place you never imagined possible.

Seventeen-year-old Emily likes her life the way it is: doting parents, good friends, good school in a safe neighborhood. Sure, she’s curious about her biological father—the one who chose life in a motorcycle club, the Reign of Terror, over being a parent—but that doesn’t mean she wants to be a part of his world. But when a reluctant visit turns to an extended summer vacation among relatives she never knew she had, one thing becomes clear: nothing is what it seems. Not the club, not her secret-keeping father and not Oz, a guy with suck-me-in blue eyes who can help her understand them both.

Oz wants one thing: to join the Reign of Terror. They’re the good guys. They protect people. They’re…family. And while Emily—the gorgeous and sheltered daughter of the club’s most respected member—is in town, he’s gonna prove it to her. So when her father asks him to keep her safe from a rival club with a score to settle, Oz knows it’s his shot at his dream. What he doesn’t count on is that Emily just might turn that dream upside down.

No one wants them to be together. But sometimes the right person is the one you least expect, and the road you fear the most is the one that leads you home.

When can you get your hands on this book?!

My interview!
1.) During your research for your new book, did you find you have a favorite bike?
Yes! While writing Nowhere But Here, I fell in love with Harley Davidson’s Softail. I also have to say I fell in love with the bikes that had ape handlebars.
2.) What were positives and negatives during your research for your book?
While writing Nowhere But Here, I had the fabulous opportunity to hang out with a motorcycle club. The positives–endless. I met some of the most amazing men and woman at this clubhouse. What impressed me the most is how even though the members are not blood related, they shared this incredible bond. They loved and treated each other like family.
Clubhouse life is a bit different than my life. There were times that I saw something that might have made my cheeks turn red or caused my mouth to gape. But overall, it was a once in a lifetime, amazing experience.
3.) What question have you always wanted to be asked in an interview? How would you answer that question?
Tell us your favorite moment when you were a teen with your best friend:
Playing endless hours of Crazy 8’s. My best friend had a genetic disease which often caused her to be in pain and she would stay in bed. I hated when she was in pain, but I enjoyed the hours and hours and hours we would spend reading teen magazines in bed and playing Crazy 8’s.
I loved my best friend and I miss her terribly.
Thank you Kate again for this interview!

In Fire & Flood, Tella Holloway faced a dangerous trek through the jungle and across the desert, all to remain a Contender in the Brimstone Bleed for a chance at obtaining the Cure for her brother. She can’t quit–she has to win the race, save Cody, and then fight to make sure the race stops before it can claim any more lives. In the next legs of the race, across the ocean and over mountains, Tella will face frostbite, sharks, avalanche, and twisted new rules in the race.

But what if the danger is deeper than that? How do you know who to trust when everyone’s keeping secrets? What do you do when the person you’d relied on most suddenly isn’t there for support? How do you weigh one life against another?

The race is coming to an end, and Tella is running out of time, resources, and strength. At the start of the race there were one hundred twenty-two Contenders. As Tella and her remaining friends start the final part of the race, just forty-one are left–and only one can win.

When this awesome book coming out??!! February 24th 2015 🙂

The Interview :

1.  What’s the best thing about being an author?
Hands down, meeting readers. Their enthusiasm is infectious and drives me to work harder.
2.  Do you have any favorite authors or favorite books?
I love everything by Rae Carson and Courtney Summers.
3. If you meet a author dead or alive who would it be?
That dream has already actualized. I’d always wanted to meet R.L. Stine, and last year it happened!
4. What is the hardest part of writing for you?
Believing that what you’re working on is worthy of publication. That blind faith never gets easier.
5.What question have you always wanted to be asked in an interview? How would you answer that question?
Hmm, how about: Victoria, what is your favorite dessert?
Answer: Warm oatmeal chocolate chip cookies!
Thank you so much Victoria! 🙂

Author Interview : Sara Raasch author of Snow like ashes

Published February 3, 2015 by mrsjennyreads

Who is Sara Raasch?

Sara Raasch has known she was destined for bookish things since the age of five, when her friends had a lemonade stand and she tagged along to sell her hand-drawn picture books too. Not much has changed since then — her friends still cock concerned eyebrows when she attempts to draw things and her enthusiasm for the written word still drives her to extreme measures. Her debut YA fantasy, SNOW LIKE ASHES, came out October 14, 2014 from Balzer + Bray, and the sequel, ICE LIKE FIRE, comes out October 13, 2015. Neither features her hand-drawn pictures.
SLA Summary:
Sixteen years ago the Kingdom of Winter was conquered and its citizens enslaved, leaving them without magic or a monarch. Now the Winterians’ only hope for freedom is the eight survivors who managed to escape, and who have been waiting for the opportunity to steal back Winter’s magic and rebuild the kingdom ever since.
Orphaned as an infant during Winter’s defeat, Meira has lived her whole life as a refugee, raised by the Winterians’ general, Sir. Training to be a warrior—and desperately in love with her best friend and future king, Mather—she would do anything to help Winter rise to power again.
So when scouts discover the location of the ancient locket that can restore their magic, Meira decides to go after it herself. Finally, she’s scaling towers and fighting enemy soldiers just as she’s always dreamed she would. But the mission doesn’t go as planned, and Meira soon finds herself thrust into a world of evil magic and dangerous politics—and ultimately comes to realize that her destiny is not, never has been, her own.
Sara Raasch’s debut fantasy is a lightning-fast tale of loyalty, love, and finding one’s destiny.

My interview with Sara

1. What inspired you to write Snow like ashes?
I get this question a lot, and I never cease to feel super lame for answering it . . . because I don’t remember! I started writing SLA when I was twelve, so all I remember is that I wanted to write a book where “winter” was perceived as the “good guys.”
 2. What is your favorite part of the book?
The action scenes! I love writing action scenes of every kind: one-on-one fights, battles, even practice sessions. The more heart-pumping, the better!
3. If there a author you would like to meet dead or alive who would it be?
My all time favorite author is Sharon Shinn — she’s an adult fantasy author and I adore her works!
4.What are your favorite books or authors?
Well, I kind of answered this above, but I’ll expand: my favorite of Sharon Shinn’s books is the Twelve Houses series. Her fantasy world is so immersive!
5.What question have you always wanted to be asked in an interview? How would you answer that question?
I get asked a lot of really awesome questions — bloggers always do a great job of being unique and fun. No regrets!
Thank you so much for having me!
Thank you Sara again! 🙂

LAIA is a Scholar living under the iron-fisted rule of the Martial Empire. When her brother is arrested for treason, Laia goes undercover as a slave at the empire’s greatest military academy in exchange for assistance from rebel Scholars who claim that they will help to save her brother from execution.

ELIAS is the academy’s finest soldier—and secretly, its most unwilling. Elias is considering deserting the military, but before he can, he’s ordered to participate in a ruthless contest to choose the next Martial emperor.

When Laia and Elias’s paths cross at the academy, they find that their destinies are more intertwined than either could have imagined and that their choices will change the future of the empire itself
